Environmental Information System

An environmental information system is the team of people, infrastructure and procedures, able to acquire, organize and update the data handled by a given company or institution; analysis of these data allows a precise diagnosis of the environmental situation to be provided, in order to establish quality objectives and strategies, making this information available not only to its scientists and technicians but to the public at large.

All projects generate a large quantity of information, which is useless if not properly organized. DOMUS develops environmental information systems in order to help the client to organize his information so that it is always available.

The basic tools used in these systems are the environmental information management procedure (IMP) and its corresponding environmental database (EDB), the latter being placed in a Web environment which gives it a series of advantages:

  • There is no need to buy additional software as access can be obtained through the browser of any operating system (Macintosh or PC);

  • Complicated training is not required, since it is as simple to use as surfing the Internet;

  • Updates can be performed from any remote locations where Internet access is available.

The system is completely reliable and confidential as the safety of the information is guaranteed, each user requires a password to gain access, after which the system must recognize the IP address and identify the network card.

Adapting these tools to the team of environmentalists and the client's infrastructure will give the client an environmental information system which will reduce time and optimize resources, with the consequent reduction in costs.
