Clearing Permits

In accordance with the Forestry and Woodland Fauna Act, holders of petroleum, mining, manufacturing or other concessions in forest areas must obtain authorisation from INRENA to clear such areas.

The Rules to the Forestry and Woodland Fauna Act establish the requirements for obtaining permission to clear woodland, which are similar to an EIS. Applying for this permit requires an evaluation of the physical and biological characteristics of the area and an inventory of tree species, which should be detailed for commercially valuable species.

DOMUS has prepared applications for clearing consent for exploration work, road construction, drilling platforms and pipeline rights of way.
